• Facts of note: The Franquette walnut (Scharsch strain) is the last English walnut to leaf out, and is less susceptible to spring frost damage. The tree is very large tree, and makes an excellent shade tree. Fair production of well sealed, thin-shelled, high quality nuts.
• Pollination: Self-pollinated. Higher yields with a pollenizer especially when the tree is young. Chandler is a great pollenizer choice for Franquette.
