Itrana Olive Tree – Distinctly Fruity Italian Favorite
The Itrana Olive Tree is a prized heirloom variety from the Lazio region of Italy, known for its robust adaptability and gourmet-quality fruit. This large, upright-growing tree produces medium to large olives with a meaty texture and mild bitterness—perfect for both pressing into high-quality oil and curing for table use. The olives ripen to a deep wine color and yield a flavorful oil with a smooth, pleasing taste.
Itrana thrives in full sun and well-drained soil, showing strong resilience to pests, drought, and cold once established. Its bold form and productive nature make it a standout in Mediterranean-style gardens and home orchards. Note: Itrana is not self-fruitful and requires a nearby pollinator such as the Frantoio Olive Tree or Leccino Olive Tree for proper fruiting.
